So, I watched Nintendo Direct today, and boy, was it full of surprises, so I will list the ones that called my attention:Gameplay:
- Every stage will have its own Final Destination form. Finally, some variety to this otherwise competitive-preferred stage.
- Master Balls will be in, holding rare and elusive Pokémon. Like the Smash Ball, everyone will want to catch it.
- Based on City Trial from Kirby's Air Ride, there will be a new mode where you can power up your character in a giant stage for a limited time before going into battle. More familiar Nintendo enemies will be in it.
- "NO ITEMS! FOX ONLY! FINAL DESTINATION!"... For real this time! Except the Fox part, of course.
Oh boy, this is the good one...Zero Suit Samus
"You want me to do WHAT?Sheik
Apparently, Nintendo likes the idea of our favorite boyish ninja princess being very flexible. Which reminds me of a couple of pics
And with him, the original eight are together again. Now for the original secret four.Charizard
Looks like Nintendo took notes from Project M about making the starter Pokémon playable separately.Greninja
I wish I could say anything about this character, but I still haven't played Pokémon X and Y.Final Thoughts (Update):
It's nice to see Charizard on his own so he can finally take advantage of his own potential. It makes me wonder what will be of Squirtle and Ivysaur. Something tells me their trainer will be cut out from this game. As for Zero Suit Samus and Sheik, I am rather mixed about both girls being playable separately from their primary counterparts especially Sheik. I mean, am I the only one who likes switching forms while playing as Zelda/Sheik? And then there's people who foolishly wished Sheik was never Zelda at all; and with this announced, hoo boy! Sigh... At least Sheik is still a girl.
Thanks a lot Sakurai. You are a chum...
